Anawangin Cove is a semicircular beach in Barangay Pundaquit, San Antonio, Zambales, accessible only by a 30-minute boat ride from Pundaquit port or a 4–6 hour trek over Mt. Pundaquit. The cove's signature landscape — a flat grey-white shoreline blanketed in volcanic ash, backed by groves of tall Agoho (ironwood) pine trees — was formed when Mt. Pinatubo's 1991 lahar flows reshaped the coastline. There is no permanent electricity or piped water at the beach itself. The cove is divided into sections managed by different local families and small resort operators, each collecting their own entrance and tent-pitching fees. Visitors camp under the Agoho trees or on the open beach. The nearby Capones Island lighthouse and Mt. Pundaquit summit are popular add-ons. Cell signal is essentially absent; generators run only at some operator sites for limited hours. Leave No Trace is strictly expected — all trash must be carried out.
