Mount Malindig is an inactive stratovolcano at 1,157 metres above sea level and the highest point in Marinduque. The standard route starts at Barangay Sihi in Buenavista municipality, where hikers register at the barangay hall. A barangay registration fee of PHP 45 applies, and guide hire starts at PHP 1,000 for a day hike or overnight. The trail passes through dense tropical forest before reaching a military radio outpost at around 900 metres, beyond which a permit from the military post may be required. The summit area and a spacious ridge campsite offer exposed views of the Sibuyan Sea and neighboring Romblon and Mindoro islands. The climb typically takes 4.5 to 5.5 hours from the jump-off and is rated a moderate difficulty (4/9). A one-night-two-day itinerary uses the ridge campsite before a summit push on the second day. Malbog Sulfur Spring and Poctoy White Beach are complementary attractions that can be combined with the hike in a 3-day Marinduque circuit. Cell signal is essentially absent above 700 metres. The trailhead in Brgy. Sihi (approximately 380 m elevation) is reached by habal-habal from Buenavista town or from Boac via the island's circumferential road.
