Mount Daraitan and Tinipak River are located in Barangay Daraitan, Tanay, Rizal, at the edge of the Sierra Madre mountain range, approximately 2 to 3 hours by road from Metro Manila. The Tinipak River is celebrated for its turquoise water, towering white marble and limestone rock formations, a cave with a natural jacuzzi pool, and rich biodiversity in the surrounding forest. Hikers can summit Mt. Daraitan (739 MASL) via a trail from the barangay, then traverse down to the river for a swim, making the site a popular multi-activity destination for beginner to intermediate hikers. Camping is done near the river bank, coordinated through Barangay Daraitan's tourism office where visitors register and are assigned an accredited local guide. As of 2025, the environmental/tourism fee is PHP 100 per person, and overnight guide fees are PHP 1,500 per group. The area is home to the indigenous Dumagat-Remontado community, and the Kaliwa Dam infrastructure project poses a long-term environmental threat to parts of the watershed. Leave No Trace principles are strictly expected and the barangay enforces waste management rules.
