Mount Batulao (811 MASL) is an inactive stratovolcano in Nasugbu, Batangas, accessed via a trail through Barangay Kaylaway near the KC Hillcrest Hotel and Golf Club on the Tagaytay–Nasugbu highway. Two main routes exist: the Old Trail (longer, more gradual ascent through grassy slopes) and the New Trail (steeper and more direct). The mountain is famous for its distinctive series of rolling hills and jagged peaks that create dramatic silhouettes, offering 360-degree views including the Nasugbu coastline, Taal Lake, and neighboring highlands. Overnight camping is permitted only at the designated campsite near the foot of the Old Trail — summit camping is strictly prohibited. All hikers must register and pay fees at the jump-off, and a mandatory local guide policy is enforced. The New Trail charges a toll of PHP 140 per person, while the traverse section adds PHP 60 per head. Guide fees run PHP 1,000–1,500 per group for overnight treks. The mountain is a top choice for beginners among Batangas peaks, rated 4/9 difficulty, and hiking duration to the campsite and summit is typically 2–3 hours.
