Borawan Island — a portmanteau of Boracay and Palawan — is a rocky beach cove on the shoreline of Pagbilao Chica Island in Padre Burgos, Quezon Province, accessible by a 10–15 minute pump boat ride from the port in Barangay Lipata. The beach is characterized by dramatic limestone and sandstone rock formations, clear turquoise water, and a narrow white-sand shoreline. Camping is the primary way to stay overnight, as there are no hotels or permanent lodges on the island itself, and the raw, undeveloped character is a large part of its appeal. Overnight visitors pay an entrance fee of PHP 120 per person plus a tent pitching fee of PHP 200 per tent (small) or PHP 250 (large), and tent rentals are available for PHP 500. Comfort rooms, shower stalls, and fresh water are available on-site for a nominal fee. Electricity is not available on the island, so gadgets must be fully charged before departure. The island sits alongside the lesser-visited Dampalitan Island, which is also campable. Most visitors take a bus from Manila to Lucena then a connecting ride to Padre Burgos, making the total trip around 5–6 hours.
